Spend the day at The Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping and leisure destinations in the world, set at the foot of the Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai. More than 1,200 shops, around 200 restaurants and cafés, and some of the city's best-known attractions sit under one roof, so it's an easy half-day or full-day plan for couples, families and first-time visitors.
Walk past the giant Dubai Aquarium tank on the ground floor, where sharks and rays glide by in full view of shoppers. See the indoor waterfall with its diving-figure sculptures, browse Fashion Avenue's luxury boutiques, and wander the Gold Souk, the Waterfront promenade and the department stores. In the evening, step out onto the Waterfront to watch The Dubai Fountain show on Burj Lake, with the Burj Khalifa lit up above you.
